    You can still use your built in meter cause the cartridges are notched to tell the camera what the ASA is.
    <font size="2" face="Verdana, Helvetica, sans-serif">Not necessarily. My Elmo has a single notch detector pin that is 0.55 inch above the locator pin. The notch is simply detected. It's width is not measured. A notch 0.5 inch wide or less will not be detected. Any notch 0.6 inch or wider will be detected.

    I assume this means that in this camera all films simply default to ASA 40 or ASA 160. Plus-X would be overexposed by 2/3 stop. Since it is generally better to underexpose reversal, rather than overexpose it, this is not good.
